It’s now not long at all until we set off on our next cruise. On 28 September 2016 we will be setting sail from Southampton on our first ever cruise with MSC Cruises on board one of their largest ships, MSC Splendida. Having booked the cruise well over a year before departure we’ve been very excited ever since. This will be the first time that either myself or Gavin have cruised with MSC Cruises, so we’re not entirely sure what to expect. I have previously visited two of their smaller ships, MSC Magnifica and MSC Lirica. I’ve heard and read good things and bad things about MSC Cruises, so although excited I’m also a little nervous. Unlike many of our previous cruises, we’ll be on board for 7-nights, as we cruise across northern Europe. Our itinerary includes a visit to Zeebrugge, followed by an overnight stay in Amsterdam, a call into Hamburg, followed by a day at sea before calling into Le Havre and then back to Southampton. Our itinerary is far from the most exciting or exotic, but 7-night should give us plenty of time to experience what MSC Cruises have to offer. However we both love the cities of Amsterdam and Hamburg having visited several times now. Anyway, back to the ship… There’s certainly plenty to keep us busy during our cruise. The ship has numerous world-class international restaurants on board, a state-of-the-art theatre, 4D cinema, an F1 Simulator (which we hope to try out) and everything else you might expect to find on board a modern cruise ship. Anyway, with not long to go now at all (although you might be reading this during our cruise) be sure to look out for updates on our social media pages! I hope to see you on board one day soon…
