I’m so excited to be finally cruising to the beautiful Norwegian Fjords! I’ve wanted to for years and now I will be ticking off one of my bucket list cruises. I’ve many more I want to tick off but you have to start somewhere!
I will be heading to Norway with Gavin, cruising with Cruise & Maritime Voyages on their wonderful flagship Columbus. We spent three nights on board the ship last summer so we’re pretty familiar with the ship and can’t wait to get back on board, this time for a little longer. She's not the biggest or the best ship but she's part of an amazing fleet of smaller more intimate ships with a friendly and welcoming crew.
For me it is the great value and friendly service which I love about cruising with Cruise & Maritime Voyages. Crew remember you as there aren't thousands of other passengers and you don't have to wait long for a drink either. Although Columbus doesn't have any ground-breaking features she's a lovely ship and we will be able to properly relax without having to take part in all the activities or make use of the endless features on board, like we have done on our cruises on much larger ships.
Our seven-night cruise to Norway on Columbus will depart London, Tilbury on 30 May 2018. We will first stop in Amsterdam, which we've cruised to many times, before a sea day on our way to Norway. The ship will call into Eidfjord, Flåm and Bergen before we enjoy another sea day on our way back home. I'm hoping we don't encounter any seas too rough on our way to and from Norway!
I am not going to lie, I am actually a little nervous about this cruise. It might sound silly but I’ve never been quite so far away from home yet but feel reassured that I will be on a cruise ship I’m familiar with and a cruise line I’ve cruised with many times now. Although I’m nervous I’m also very excited to see the amazing scenery of the Fjords and ports we will visit on Columbus.
Before long it will be time for us to start packing…
