Heavy Snowfall Hits The United Kingdom!
Winter truly arrived in style in the United Kingdom with heavy snowfall causing chaos across most of the country.
A spell of cold and snowy weather hit the country at the start of December, with temperatures dropping well below 0° C and snow over 1 metre deep in more Northern and remote places.
Another spell of cold weather has hit the United Kingdom this weekend, with day time temperatures barely reaching above 0° C. In some more remote Northern areas temperatures have dropped to -20° C or colder!
The heavy snowfall caused transport chaos across Colchester yesterday, with people struggled to get to work on roads made treacherous by snow and ice.
Our local Police service,Essex Police dealt with more than 180 weather-related incidents across the county, including 20 road collisions, 25 fallen power cables and 16 downed trees.
Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester said: "It always amazes me how snow can cause complete chaos to the country's entire infrastructure. Although it is wonderful to see and makes it feel so much more festive during the week leading to Christmas."
He added: "Its strange to think that many of our followers across the world, including America, Canada, Spain and even Australia are most likely enjoying much warmer weather."
Below are some photos Harry took earlier this morning.
