Don't laugh... but I may have just booked my shortest cruise yet! I'm not just talking about the duration of the cruise but also the actual distance the ship will be sailing. I've just booked myself and Gavin on an overnight cruise on board Marco Polo. It sets sail from Harwich (convenient for us as its only 20 miles down the road) and sails all the way toooo... London, Tilbury! We've got a little while to wait though, as it doesn't set sail until 18 August 2018. But why book such a short cruise? Well, we've cruised on Marco Polo before, on a slightly longer three-night cruise and enjoyed it. We have been keen to get another cruise booked on her for sometime but she has not offered any cruises with nearby departure ports to us. In 2018 Marco Polo is offering a total of four cruises from Harwich, two of which are overnight mini cruises.
I've sometime joked to Gavin and friends that one day there will be a cruise from Harwich to London, Tilbury, but now Cruise & Maritime Voyages have actually gone ahead and done it! So just for the fun of it I had to book it! And of course it will be wonderful to cruise on board the classic Marco Polo for a second time. I've also planned a little surprise for Gavin (if you're reading this Gavin no I'm not telling you!) but he will have to wait until we board the ship to find out. Now to begin counting down the days...
