Volunteers @ Sea, Ernie & Edna, receive Arcadia drawing

P&O Cruises' Arcadia at sea

Earlier today, Friday 11th August 2011, Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, took the opportunity to meet with our Volunteers @ Sea, Ernie & Edna, to hand over his drawing of P&O Cruises' Arcadia.

Ernie & Edna are due to board Arcadia next week for their 13 night 'Around Britain' cruise aboard the vessel, during which time they are due to present our drawing of Arcadia to Captain Peter Philpott.

Dream Designs Colchester has had a close connection with P&O Cruises for a number of years. In April 2008 we were invited to visit the then newly built Ventura, by Nigel Esdale, then Managing Director, P&O Cruises. We followed the construction of the ship closely and were honoured to be given the opportunity to visit the vessel whilst docked in Southampton, just days before she was officially named by Dame Helen Mirren.

Later in August 2008, Dream Designs Colchester met with Nigel Esdale, then Managing Director, P&O Cruises, where we were given an insight to the plans for Azura, which joined the P&O Cruises fleet in 2010.

In April 2010 Dream Designs Colchester had the pleasure of being invited to the Naming Ceremony of Azura. Whilst onboard the vessel Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester was given the opportunity to present his drawing of Azura to Carol Marlow, Managing Director, P&O Cruises.

In December 2010, our honourable Volunteers @ Sea, Ernie & Edna, kindly agreed to present our drawing of P&O Cruises' Aurora to Captain David Pembridge, on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester during their 23 night Christmas Caribbean cruise aboard the vessel.

Our Volunteers @ Sea, Ernie & Edna are due to leave their home in Colchester on Thursday 18th August 2011 during the early hours of the morning, before boarding Arcadia in Southampton that afternoon.

P&O Cruises have been kind enough to arrange for Ernie & Enda to meet with Captain Peter Philpott during their cruise to officially present our drawing of Arcadia.

Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said:

" Today is another significant day for Dream Designs Colchester, as our cruise ship drawing of P&O Cruises' Arcadia is handed over to our Volunteers @ Sea, Ernie & Edna, before they board the vessel next Thursday."

He added:

" The official drawing presention which is set to take place during their 13 night cruise aboard the vessel, will continue the close connection with P&O Cruises, which Dream Designs Colchester has had for a number of years now and will continue next year when we join them to celebrate the meeting of their fleet of seven ships in Southampton for The Grand Event. "
